Echoes of Savanna

I love a good science fiction book! This has the added benefit of being a little bit medical too. I must admit, this is a case of not judging a book by it's cover. The cover is not my favorite. I read the description of the book without ever seeing the cover. That was enough to intrigue me.

This book is supposed to take place in 2036. These days that doesn't really seem that far away. In the book, we had made some amazing scientific leaps but given the changes in technology over the last century make that very plausible. I was hooked from the first chapter. I really had a hard time putting it down.

The book really makes you think and is entertaining at the same time. Some of the issues both medical and political are very believable and not much different from some of the fears and issues we deal with now. I am really looking forward to continuing with this series. Check it out.

About the Book: Every generation has their defining moments, events that change history and turn the course of lives. Forever will the children of that generation be identified by those moments. Savanna Taylor is a medical doctor in 2036, the same year terrorists release a series of plagues and viruses into the world. She is a nineteen year old Brain Trust whose task it is to find a cure for the diseases and develop vaccines to prevent their further spread. The world is thrown in turmoil and Savanna needs to find a way to survive with her sanity and family intact. Can Savanna cope in a world in constant flux brought on by war and disease? Can she save the world and protect her loved ones or will she make the ultimate sacrifice? How will she be defined?
